Stella is a desktop focused, Gnome2 based Centos 6 remix. It is available as installable Live media and contains standard Centos software plus some multimedia and desktop additions. I made it a rule not to overwrite Centos Base, so besides the changed artwork and naming what you get under the hood is basically Centos - with one big exception: LibreOffice replaces OpenOffice. Stella comes bundled with various 3rd party repos: - EPEL - ElRepo - Adobe - nux-dextop (my own repo containing additional programs, mostly desktop oriented) - nux-libreoffice (my own repo containing Libreoffice - backported from Fedora) It was my intention to make it so that the bundled repos do NOT conflict. You do not need to mess around with yum configuration, priorities etc; it should all just work(tm)! I made it another rule not to overwrite anything in EPEL or ElRepo, but if you notice any problems or package conflicts please let me know ASAP so I can fix it. The necessary software to play a wide range of audio/video formats is already installed; Adobe Flash & Java (OpenJDK )support, too. Additional software from ElRepo has been bundled as well, mostly wireless NICs drivers. Feel free to post in the forums if you have questions or comments. If you'd like a slightly outdated but stable, Gnome2 based OS to play with then feel free to give Stella a try. :-)Latest release: 6.2 BUILD16
